A  Musical Event

 31 May 2016

On Tuesday, 31 May 2016, Dr. Inge Duwe, a retired Gymnasium teacher who is active in the cultural life of Jülich, visited our club.

Her talk was an informative and lively introduction to the concert planned for 18 June 2016 in Jülich with works by F.  Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, A. Arutjumjan, A. Dvorak, J.  Brahms and J. Strauss. At the same time the “Collegium musicum” will celebrate its 75th anniversary.  Around 25 members listened intently to the works presented by Frau Duwe with historical details and musical samples.
Singing makes you happy. The members were glad to sing along with Frau Duwe Mendelsohn-Bartholdy’s   “Oh Täler weit , oh Höhen”, one of the most famous songs of the German Romantic period.
“Your musical talk has made us cleverer and happier.”  With these words our president thanked Frau Duwe for her fascinating  talk.
