Our next destination: Antwerp

Tuesday, 18 September 2018

In preparation for the board’s excellent idea to plan a trip to Antwerp during the Rubens Year 2018, on Tuesday, 18 September 2018 Myriam Woischnik-Buck gave a talk about this historic city.

Antwerp has had an eventful history as the richest city in Europe in the 16th century, as the many well-preserved  and elegant Renaissance buildings testify today.  In her presentation Myriam gave us an overview of the many famous museums, churches and historic buildings, in particular the market square with its ornate city hall as well as the Rubens Museum.  She gave recommendations for a stroll through the historic old town.

The talk gave us all a taste of the trip to Antwerp planned for 22 September.
